Life in boxes.

I'm packing up and leaving Grünerløkka again, to live with a friend on Majorstua. Everything I own, and everything I like is in boxes. It's a bit sad, but also OK. I look forward to the new place. I just hate packing, so I'm procrastinatic, writing this instead and singing out loud to M83.

I know this blog is mainly about my random stories and fashion and polaroids. But I just wanted to share Jess Baumung with you all. I've been following his blog for nearly a year now. He is a documentary photographer focusing on bands, but does also some weddings and band photos and such.
The picture above is from Moneens filming of their music video Hold That Sound. He has the most amazing ability to capture the perfect moment, as well as making it look beautiful in the after work. He has also taken the best pictures of all my favourite bands.

I'm leaving for Trondheim tomorrow, and working and moving the rest of the week and also going to Sweden on friday next week. So I might not update in a week or so.

Another night out, another dancefloor.

Finally, friday! I'm going out with work today, to have a couple of beers and just hang out. My old teacher's will be there as well, it'll be nice hanging out besides at work. Other than that I don't really have anything to say.

Enjoy your weekend with another fantastic series from Tim Walker!

Pull the world over your eyes.

I'm listening to Animals by I See Horses on repeat. I think it's really nice.

A picture Cato Aurtun took of me the other day. I'm wearing my new dress (bought it from Topshop, and I'm quite pleased) and new shoes. The dress is a hundred percent Fair Trade cotton, so it feels super nice and I'm helping the world ... a little? Also wearing my Burberry trenchcoat on the picture.

In other news, I went to see Efterklang at Chateau Neuf yesterday. My hang out place of the week it seems. First I went to a friend of mine, Øyvind, and hung out with him, another friend named Sigurd and Sofie. We sat around listening to 60 Millions, the most hilarious thing I ever heard. Walked up to the concert and witnessed one of the best things ever. Probably the best concert in the last two years. If you have spotify, go listen!

The last song was the nicest, because everyone in the audience was called forward and we stood there and sang along with the band. It was, honestly, just dreamy and like falling in love.

Chessnut girls and music feet.

Yesterday I went up to Chateau Neuf to see The Slow Painters play. I know two of the guys in the band, and it's been nearly two years since they've played together. They were good I thought, only something was weird about the vocals (to low set microphone), so we couldn't really here the vocals.

Another band played as well. The bass player has one of the best vocals I've heard in Norway. It had this Dallas Green sort of softness, but with the rawness of Stuart Braithwaite (Mogwai). The band was called I See Horses. If you click the link you can hear three of their songs. Animals and Judas are my favourites so far.

It got late though, and me and Magnus and Cato stumbled home. They jumped in a taxi, but I got on the tram instead. It only took me about three stops though, and then I had to walk to the next stop. Unfortunatly it was closed down. I wasn't sure it was when I got there, but I asked a guy who was standing there. He was supposed to take the same tram as me. We ended up walking together home. He is a jazz musician, and that's all I know. I walked in high heels and picked up chessnuts whenever I found any. Was a nice end to a nice evening.

What a month!

September has by far been one of the best months of 2009. I've been traveling quite a lot, and I'm going to travel more. Moving into a new appartment with a good friend of mine in only a week! Work has been very stressful, but I've worked loads of overtime which means I now have two extra days off! I assisted on a photoshot, I went out a lot, I met my family, I danced. Sølve Sundsbø with Surface 2 Air, Nick Knight is signed on to Art + Commerce and Jimmy Choo's collection for H&M is out (at least parts). More about this now I think.

I logged onto Art + Commerce to check out the picture of the day yesterday, only to find out that Nick Knight has been signed to A+C. Great news, I think.

And also, Jimmy Choo's collection (or at least parts of it?) is finally out. I'm going to save all my money for this, and take a day off work to go shopping. The clothes, shoes and bags are simply beautiful. With studds, great mixture of fabrics and material, and his signature heals I think the whole collection will fly away faster than you can say "Matthew Williamson's collection for H&M was pretty cool as well". Here are some of my favourites.

You can find more pictures here.

Exciting news.

Last year the brand Surface 2 Air colaborated with Justice, the french Ed Banger artists. They made some jeans and some great leather jackets. S2A are doing the same thing this year, only this year they are colaborating with Sølve Sundsbø, the fashion photographer. You can see his collection (three dresses, three tops and three bags) on S2A's site. All of the clothes/bags have Sølve's images on them.

I personally just absolutely fell in love with this! It's not in stock yet, but I'm buying it as soon as it is.

Back from Bergen.

My trip to Bergen was nice, as always. Met up with all of my family and hung out with some friends as well. I even found time to do some shopping, and ended up with these fabulous new shoes!
I'm wearing them to a long, big grey sweater with a waist belt, black tights and a grey beanie. Besides the fact that I look really sleepy, I think I look nice.
I need a rooftop to take pictures on.

Over time, over worked.

And yet again I'm stuck at work till late tonight. I guess I'll manage though. Taking nearly all of tomorrow off to go to Bergen.

But it's alright. I'll drink some wine tonight and have a good night sleep. And wake up tomorrow smiling.

Searching for their lives.

Laundry day.

At home my washer is running continuous today. No clothes left after a weekend in the mountains and being sick all last week means no clean clothes. So I'm wearing my most shabby looking jeans with a striped sweater and my old converse. I'm so busy these days I'm hardly home. Yesterday was probably my first "hanging out in the appartment" day in a long time. Magnus hung out wiht me. We saw two movies, Les Triplettes de Belleville and the Orange Girl (finally!). I'm definetly, somehow, going to get my orange girl story. One day. Somehow.

Here is my mountain outfit. My dad's "lusekofte" with a belt and jeans. The shoes ruin it, but I was in the mountain chasing sheep, you can't wear fine shoes for that.

More Tim Walker.

Seems Tim Walker has been working a lot lately. This new series of his though, for Vogue UK, is probably my alltime favourite though! Found on Fashion Gone Rogue.

I know, a lot of pictures. But they're so beautiful!

Never been this tired.

Late for work, couldn't wake up. So tired now I can hardly keep my eyes up. Drinking coke and eating short bread. But leaving for the mountains today, so happy and relaxed to a certain degree. I can sleep all the way up there.

Alla kallar mig for discotjei.

Veronica Maggio is coming to Oslo, on the 24th of October! I am, of course, going to see her. Seeing as she's the cutest ever, and I really enjoy her music. Favourite song is probably Stop and I staden vaxer ingen blommor.

In other news, the dress I ordered from Topshop about three weeks ago has finally arrived. I'm picking it up in a couple of minutes, before heading back to Oslo after visiting my mom and dad. Spent the day working, and went walking in the woods looking for mushrooms. I found loads. So christmas dinner sauce is secured.

Sun through my window

I had the craziest dreams last night, mostly because of my fever I think. But I did sleep from 11PM untill 9AM, as well as from 4PM till 8PM yesterdy. So hopefully I've caught up on that, and maybe now my stress level will go down. My dad is coming to pick me up tonight and take me home, so I can relax a bit more. Should be nice.

Waiting, I'll sit here with my blankets reading, eating ice cream and working on translating my works new website.

My lungs hurt.

Sick again, pnemonia going on I think. It hurts. But things are good.

A new thing called "Klubb Tversover" just started, kicking off this thursday. It's kind of like Get Dancey, only with more Electro pop. I really hope I'm well enough to go dancing.

The answer is never.

Trees do not die from age. They can, unlimited, divide and re-new their cells. At the same time as the three grows higher, the tree trunk grows in thickness so that it can hold itself up. You're not even able to carry this old suitcase, nor get it with you onboard the train leaving for Hamburg soon. You breathe heavily and your back hurts from lifting. In a few years you'll be gone.

I am a biker.

Yesterday I went home to visit my family. Dad drove me to the office in town afterwards, so I could get my bike. Then I biked up to Magnus to get some film he developed for me. There was some really old stuff on some of the films. It was nice.

Then I biked home. So it turned out to be quite a ride, again. Legs of steel is all I'm saying!

New Craig McDean pictures, found on Fashion Gone Rogue. There was also news on there about the new Muse magazine (fall 2009) which is dedicated to Natasha Poly. It will have contributions from Craig McDean, Terry Richardson and Sølve Sundsbø! Can hardly wait.

In completly other news, Burberry Prorsum's new high heels just arrived the online luxury fashion retailer Net-A-Porter. They are probably the nicest shoes I've seen in my life.

I would trade my soul for gold.

Yesterday I went up to visit Peter, he broke his knee, and to get his bike. Seeing as he won't be able to touch it for a while. So then I biked 5 km home! My ass hurts today, but it was really nice. Going to ride it everywhere I go from now on.

More Kim Hiorthøy
"You're also alone, Jakob said. Irene was sitting across from him knitting. But I'm with you, she said. It might seem that way, said Jakob, but really you're alone. Irene put the knittings down in her lap. How? She said. Come on, you of all people know what I mean, said Jakob. That we're all alone inside of ourselves et cetera. It's something everyone knows. Irene looked at him. But I don't want to be alone, she said. I want to be with you. Jakob got up. Yeah, I don't know, there's nothing I can do about it, he said. Do you want to take a bath? We could do it together, I can scrub your back. Irene looked down. I don't want to be alone, she said again"

Kim Hiorthøy, translated.

Kim Hiorthøy, one of my favourite authors/musicans/artists has written an amazing book called "Du kan ikke svikte din beste venn og bli god til å synge samtidig". Or translated: "You can't betray your bestfriend and become a good singer at the same time". It's a beautiful book. Here is one of the short stories, translated from Norwegian.

"I have to leave now, she said. No, wait! I said and ran to get the balloons. Look! I can do this as well! I almost sang while I threw them up in the air and caught them again with nice, swooshing movements. That's not enough, she said. Yes, yes! It is enough! I said and threw an especially nice, yellow one in front of her eyes. But she wouldn't listen. Before, when I didn't have any of this, it seemed exciting, she said. But when it fills up your whole day it's just tiresome. She walked to the door and opened it. You have to want it even more! I yelled and let go of a balloon so it flew up into the air. She shook her head and closed the door. I grabbed the trompet and ran out on the veranda. This was my final chance."

With every fatal crush.

I'm home, sick and empty. Waiting for it to rain so it can wash away everything.
