White Lies.

Tonight I'm seeing White Lies. Looking forward to it, of course.

And I kind of messed up again, but oh well. At least this time it wasn't all me.

Mew mew mew.

No more stories are told today. I'm sorry, they washed away.
No more stories, the world is grey. I'm tired. Let's wash away.

Mew are playing in Oslo on the 21st of November, and I just got a ticket!

Trick or treat?

I made my halloween costyme last night. And I'm going to be a shooting star. I basically made a star and glued a stripe with pearls, ribbons and glitter underneath it, on a white dress. I'm also wearing bright yellow tights, a golden sparkling hat and gold make-up. I will most likely post some pictures.
Besides that I spent most of my time yesterday making my room mate listen to post-rock and dance around the house. Hopefully I'll manage to convince her to listen to my music all the time. She did actually put on Mogwai when she was in the shower this morning, which impressed me.
I'm going to see the Slow Painters and GO Fandango today, with Mr. Jensen. I'm really looking forward to it.

Scarlet fields.

I just found this dress by Camilla and Marc on net-a-porter, and I need it!

I am in love, without a doubt.

Melt you down, make me better.

Back from this weekend's trip. It was fun. We danced and sang and drank way too much. Played and smoked and ran around pretending to be birds. I bought this bow as well.

Pull the world over your eyes.

I'm listening to Animals by I See Horses on repeat. I think it's really nice.

A picture Cato Aurtun took of me the other day. I'm wearing my new dress (bought it from Topshop, and I'm quite pleased) and new shoes. The dress is a hundred percent Fair Trade cotton, so it feels super nice and I'm helping the world ... a little? Also wearing my Burberry trenchcoat on the picture.

In other news, I went to see Efterklang at Chateau Neuf yesterday. My hang out place of the week it seems. First I went to a friend of mine, Øyvind, and hung out with him, another friend named Sigurd and Sofie. We sat around listening to 60 Millions, the most hilarious thing I ever heard. Walked up to the concert and witnessed one of the best things ever. Probably the best concert in the last two years. If you have spotify, go listen!

The last song was the nicest, because everyone in the audience was called forward and we stood there and sang along with the band. It was, honestly, just dreamy and like falling in love.

Back from Bergen.

My trip to Bergen was nice, as always. Met up with all of my family and hung out with some friends as well. I even found time to do some shopping, and ended up with these fabulous new shoes!
I'm wearing them to a long, big grey sweater with a waist belt, black tights and a grey beanie. Besides the fact that I look really sleepy, I think I look nice.
I need a rooftop to take pictures on.

Laundry day.

At home my washer is running continuous today. No clothes left after a weekend in the mountains and being sick all last week means no clean clothes. So I'm wearing my most shabby looking jeans with a striped sweater and my old converse. I'm so busy these days I'm hardly home. Yesterday was probably my first "hanging out in the appartment" day in a long time. Magnus hung out wiht me. We saw two movies, Les Triplettes de Belleville and the Orange Girl (finally!). I'm definetly, somehow, going to get my orange girl story. One day. Somehow.

Here is my mountain outfit. My dad's "lusekofte" with a belt and jeans. The shoes ruin it, but I was in the mountain chasing sheep, you can't wear fine shoes for that.

What to wear?

I bought a sparkling top, and a white top. I don't know which one to wear.

I've been thinking I should post some pictures of outfits I like on here. So I'm going to start with a picture of my Marc by Marc Jacobs dress.

Selfportrait, by me.

I've always felt that every picture you take is a photo of yourself. Whether fashion, documentary or polaroid; it's you. And I like it, cos that way you can always know who you are. And if you find yourself having second thoughts about anything, you can always turn to your pictures and smile, knowing that things will be alright.

Det går nok bra.

So much we do.

Yesterday I had coffee with Panda. It was nice, just talking about nothing, watching a man talk to himself for one hour. Waiting for telephone calls. Afterwards I went home and cleaned my room, I'm moving out on the 1st of October. I can hardly wait.

Then Peter came over, and we shot a picture I've had in my head for days. It's a "polaroid" of a polaroid, with me in front. I like how you see my tattoo.

Swine flu and rain

It's been raining a lot lately. And work got to stressful. So I got the fantastically overrated swine flu and ended up sleeping for 16 hours. Now I'm finally on vacation from work. But I have to visit work anyway, to finish some stuff and tell my co-worker what to do.

I went to visit my mom and dad yesterday. And spent the night reading a book, forgetting to put on my shoes and take the bus home. So I slept in the same room as my beautiful sister, and woke up at 5AM from the worst nightmare I've had in years. Hopefully I'll sleep better tonight.

Tattoo appointment!

For a while now I've been wanting to get a tattoo. A swallow diving with a ribbon in its mouth saying "Waiting". I sent a tattooing studio here in Norway an email yesterday (they're called "Invictus"), and I got a reply. So I'm gonna head up there today and show my stuff and hopefully book an appointment sometime next week or the week after that. I am so looking forward to it, I can hardly wait!

Yesterday the Burberry page on facebook released these pictures from the fall/winter shoot with Mario Testino.

Looks like a fun photoshoot. I've posted the final results earlier, so go back if you want to see.

Now I'm gonna go back to drinking coffee, eating my pear and looking forward to my new tattoo!

So wake up.

Another weekend passed. I hosted a huge party on friday, which I would call this summer's best party thus far. I had to throw out 40 people, remove the fireplace to clean underneath it, had 3 hours of sleep and danced loads.

Saturday and sunday I spent watching TV, went to the movies with Mr. Jensen and saw Harry Potter and the Halfblood Prince, and tried teaching myself how to play a song on my piano. I'm moving on the 1st of October, hopefully I'll bring my piano then. I haven't had it for 4 years now, and I miss it.

This is the song I'm trying to learn.

Happiness by the Kilowatt cover by City And Colour. It's so hard, but give me a year or two, and I'll have it.

Rome and Denmark.

Summer is probably our most busy time, it seems. Even went to Rome today. Probably on the plane now. He promised me a gift. So I'm looking forward to that! A lot. With Even's taste I'm guessing I'm gonna get something good. And if it is good, I'll take a picture and post it here.

I'm going to Denmark on thursday to hang out with my family and run around pretending to be American, seeing as I don't understand danish if my life depended on it.

Anyway. Even always wanted to marry Adriana Lima, but recently he found a new "to be" wife. Who other than Lily Allen? So, as a farewell gift, and have a great time, here's the August 2009 I-D cover by Alasdair McLellan.

I have to admit I love her too, though. Only, I can't really see why boys do ... With songs like "Fuck You" and "Not Fair", well, I don't know. She just sounds like a feminist from hell at times. But a pretty feminist, so I'm ok with it. As long as there's no bra burning, I don't mind.

High heel week.

This week I am only going to wear high heels. Preferably a new pair every day. Which should be no problem really, considering I have nearly 25 pairs of beautiful shoes now.

Another set of pictures from the untitled photoshoot I had nearly two weeks ago.

Running away.

I ran away, and went on vacation, so it's been quite impossible for me to update with anything. But I have new polaroids and a new bruise on my leg, so things should be start working themselves out soon.

Untitled series?

One picture done, hope you enjoy!

I really need help with finding a name for the series though. All of the pictures are taken near a brick wall, or in something similar to a construction site. Any ideas?

Exams stands for A!

Even got an A on his exam! Congratulation a million trillion times!

It's so warm outside, it's lovely. But my office is too hot, I can hardly bare it. But I guess somehow I'll get by. On the upside only two more days of work, and then I have a weeks vacation! Hopefully people will want to hang out and do some photoshoots. And if not I'll take horrible selfportraits and give them pretentious titles.

Mario Testino just shot another series for the July edition of American Vogue. I wish the picture below was of me, walking around in New York looking for a place to stay, or my hotel. It's been too long since I've travelled.

The series is called City of Dreams. And it really is.

I had a photoshoot yesterday as well. With Sofia White (MUA) and Siri A (pholk.no). It turned out quite nice I think. Even has some polaroids. But in the meantime I have a sneak preview. Not done with the retouch and not with the look. But here you go!

Before / after, Maiken.

New concept in the making! Me and Even were talking yesterday, and he came up with the great idea of showing some of our work both before and after photoshop. I thought I'd kick it all off with some of my pictures. These were taken for my cousin, who's a hairdresser. The model is my sister, Annichen.

The pictures were for a contest called Wella Trend Vision 2008. It's an annual contest, one of the biggest, to do with hair. These pictures were taken for the Norwegian competition, which we won! We got to travel to Lisbon to attend the World Championship. It was a lot of fun.

This first picture (below) is the raw-file. It's not been processed in any way in this picture:

To light the photo I only used a small softbox, places to the far left to get a hard, but still kind of soft lighting. I placed it there to show her hair (which is what was important for this shoot). To the right I have a silver reflector. The background is lit with two lamps on each side. The after picture is as seen below:

Quite a lot of work in photoshop with this one. The layers mainly consist of editing the skin, editing the hair, curves and dodge and burn. Another important thing to this photo was to really make her haircolour stand out, as it was one of the criterias in the category we competed.

Another picture from the same shoot. The lighting is the same, except I moved the softbox a lot closer to light her face.

And after here, I mainly did the same things as the one above. However, this is the first picture I ever retouched (skin) with building up special parts of her face. Like the cheekbone, and ear. I remember being quite pleased.
